The evaluation for this week is...

This post is about the evaluation of the other groups' mindmaps. To do so, we have focused on the content, the exposition, the creativity and the poster itself.

Firstly, the Meerkatsoyer1415 group had a very complete content but they only show us an example of the subject in the mindmap. If they had given us information of all subjects, it would be perfect. However, the poster wasn't creative because it was a printed image.

Secondly, the Power Puff Teachers  group had a very creative poster, it was one of the most worked posters. The exposition was good  and the content was complete too , although the star spoke very quickly.

Thirdly, regarding  the Umpalumpas group, we found the poster very creative and well done. The content wasn't very complete but the exposition was very good although the star was a little nervous. We understand her position because it's the first time.

Fourthly, the Keep Calm and Keep Organized group had a very big and clear poster. The exposition was very good and the content was clear but they got confused with the part about the subjects.

Fifthly, the Platypus group had a very original and creative poster, the exposition was one of the best of the class in our opinion. The content was clear and complete.

Sixthly, the SevenUp group did a good exposition although the content was a little short.  The poster wasn't very creative but it was clear.

Seventhly, the ItsChOOL group was awesome in every aspects because they had a very original poster, the content was very complete and the exposition was very entertaining and enjoyable.

Eighthly, the Busy Bess group, concerning the posters, it was one of the most original with the robot. The content and the exposition were very dynamic because the star was interacting while she was explaining the mindmap.

It's the turn of the JOURNALIST!

Hi followers! I'm María García and this week I have been... (drums) the journalist!

I'm going to tell you how the task we have had to do this week has been:

The activity of this week consists in explaining the concept of TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) through a mind map where we had to develop this concept with its relationships between all the elements that form TPACK. Moreover, we had to link all the subjects of this year with the different parts of TPACK.

First, when our teacher explained to us the activity of this week. We didn't have idea about what TPACK is and how to do a mind map, but she gave us the information about it and we started to organize us!

Monday 9th, we decided that we had to meet on Wednesday afternoon so Rebeca Cascales (this week's facilitator) organized the work of the group. Each member of the group had to look for information about TPACK and have it done for Wednesday.

The first day of work, all the PowerTeachers brought the information and we started to work hard!

We met in a study room in Luis Vives' library and we shared all the information that we had looked for. Then, we decided the main information we had to use for the explanation of TPACK, we decided where we had to put the courses of this year, we chose the photos for each concept and we developed the way to show this information in a mind map.

We thought that it would be a good idea to do a dynamic mind map: We decided to do several parts for the explanation of TPACK, so this was our idea: We would buy a white cardboard which would serve as basis and the context of the process of TPACK. Then, we cut out three primary colour circles and we stack them on the white cardboard.

Then, we cut out three smaller circles where we put the words and the initials of the combination of the three main concepts (technology, pedagogy and content), that were TPK, TCK and PCK. The colours of those words were purple (TPK), orange (TCK) and green (PCK), the combination of the primary colours.

Finally, we cut out one circle (medium size) where we put TPACK and one photo in the middle. Apart from the first three circles, we stack the other circles with blu-tack so we could paste and take them off easily to overlap the components of the model in order to make it more dynamic and fun. Besides, we also worte the names of the subjects of this course on the little cardboard.
On Thursday 12th we met at the canteen to do the mind map. We bought all the material and we did it!

Finally, on Monday 16th, the star (Silvia García) exposed the mind map in class.

Another duty of the journalist is to choose one blog/website from outside the class and a blog from our own class. So, first I'm going to show you what blog from outside the class I really like:

I chose this website because first of all I LOVE travelling. I really love visiting places, knowing new cities and towns and other cultures. So, I wanted to choose a blog/website which was about travelling. I chose this one because for me the presentation of the website is great: The woman who created this blog/website is a writer and traveller. She develops the blog/website in an amazing way. She put in different parts the organization of the blog: places where she has been (one part for each continent and countries), the photos she has taken in all her travels, advices, challenges, guides about whatever aspects in the travels, questions and answer, information about her books or how to contact with her, etc. Also, she put a gadget where you can read a chapter of her book and I thought its original. Finally, a funny thing I saw in this blog is that there is a part which call ''Surprise post'' where the ''blog-oracle'' decides the post to see for you. I think this blog is amazing and the people who loves travelling should read it. So, travellers... visit that page and enjoy it!

To end with, I have chosen the blog of Seven Up! from our class. I have to say that all the blogs are good, we have just started with the blogs and we aren't familiar with blogs yet and how to develop new tools to make the blog more attractive. However, I have chosen Seven Up!'s blog because I like how they have developed the tasks and I really like the fact that they put one post about working with Skype and another about their experience working online. I think that it's original and great. So, I hope you visit their page and enjoy a lot seeing it! Here's the link of the blog:

Watch our video to see how we have worked for this activity!

I hope you enjoy visiting our blog and you like our activity!

This is the mind map of the references we have used:

I'm the analyst this week and this is my work!

Hi, I'm Anthea and this week I'be been the Analyst.

a) What was the best part of the activity?
The best part has been being the whole group together, telling what we could include in the project and giving explanations about why we thouht our own ideas were the correct ones.
After all, we have done an exposition, in which the star has explained the work and the teacher has made some questions to make sure we all know what our project is about.

b) What was the worse?
The worse part is getting nervous when we have to do our presentation to the whole class, because we are afraid of making mistakes, although we shouldn't be, because everybody is wrong sometime.

c) What was the best moment of the week (in the work of the group)?
The best moment of the week was when we were working on this project together and giving many ideas for the way we would do it.

d) What was the worse?
The worse moment arose when we had to agree and stablishing a specific day for meeting and do our project.
Apart from this, it hasn't been nothing bad about the group's work.

e) What have you learnt?
We have learnt many things about the topic of this project, TPACK. Although it hasn't been the only thing, there are others such as organizing or coordinating our work.
From my point of view, it has teaches us not only how to do our work, but also how to communicate among us and make sure we take the right decision, which is really important for us because before becoming a good teacher, we have to make mistakes and then learn from them.
If we don't make that mistakes now, will them arise in the future when we'll be teachers? This wouldn't be good at all, because we wouldn't have a person who tells us which the right way is, and, for that reason, we wouldn't teach things in the appropriate way.

f) What do you need to conserve -as group- for the next weeks?
We have to conserve the enthusiasm we have worked with all the week and be positive about the projects, which will help us in the future.
Another thing is that we get on well with every person of the group and that helps us to tell what is wrong or if something doesn't works properly.
And the last thing is that if something doesn't work good, we know how to separate what happens in and out of the work's group; it means, arguments because of the project can't affect our personal reactions.

g) What do you need to improve -as a group- for the next weeks?
We have to improve the organization of the group, because there were moments in which we didn't know what to do and how to go on.
Another aspect I have to take into account is that there is a lack of content in our project respect to the other groups, even though we will do our best to improve everything, but mainly this part.

h) How THIS content is related to other contents in the course and in your degree?
It is related to all subjects, because each one is included in some part of TPACK. For this reason, it's important to know what they are about, which contents they have and how to teach them.

i) There is any evident social connection of this content (news, politics, etc.)?

It is connected to the increasing use of the social networks and electronic devices (tablets, computers...), because it's more and more common work with them. So we have to know how to use them for teaching children in the future.
