Hi bloggers! I'm Alba García and I've been the journalist for this activity. 

We have been very lucky this week, as we had to use the tool Fakebook, which some of us had already used previously for another subject. 1 UP!

We met on Wednesday and divided the work among us. I looked for other resources where the different Leadership teams where explained, while my other collegues analyzed the document provided by our teacher. Finally, as we liked how things where explained in both documents, we decided to combine them to create a more complete profile for each Leadership style.

As we had run out time and hadn't finished the profiles completely, we decided that each one of us would be in charge of finishing at home one of the profiles. Then, on Thursday in class we put together what we had found about each Leadership style and what we thought of each one.

On Monday in class, we were in charge of designing some questions to ask the other groups about each of the Leadership styles, and Rebeca was in charge of controlling the time so any group excedeed the time set to answer the questions.

Meanwhile, the other groups' stars had to get together two by two and defend one of the leadership styles. To do so, they and their groups had to look for information about the leadership styles in each of the Fakebook profiles in order to collect as much information as possible. Then, all the stars had to go to the front of the class and defend their leadership style.

Once more, in this activity we have had to cooperate with groups we haven't usually worked with. We will find ourselves in this situation many other times when we begin to work at a new school, or when new teachers arrive to the school we are working at. We have to learn to adapt ourselves to working with people we aren't used to work with.

To finish with, I would like to recommend you two blogs.

The first blog I would like to recommend is Platypus' blog. Apart from the design of the blog (which I absolutely love and find very funny), I really like how it is structured and the fact that one of the first things you see in the blog is the group's photo at the left side of the page. Besides, the section "Best Post!" at the right side of the page has made a very good impression on me, as it's been the first time I've come through something like this in one of our blogs. The content of their posts also deserves a special mention. Good work guys!

The second blog I would like to recommend is El Rincón del Maestro. There, you can find a collection of activities and resources for many different subjects both in English and in Spanish. This is a very useful blog where you can find many interesting activities for our future students and you can also send them the activities you have done to share them with the educative community.

Hello everybody, here is the journalist!!!!!!

Hello everybody, I'm Marina Crevillén Fernández and during this week I have been the journalist. I am going to explain you what we did last week to do this task.

Well, first of all I have to say that we met two times to do this task that consist on doing a video in which we have to represent a conflict in a school.

The first time that we met we prepared the script and after that we started to recover some scenes. We recovered them in the library and in a place of the campus. Doing the script was difficult because we don't know really what to say to do the story convincing, but finally we created it. While we were recovering the scenes we had a lot of fun because, my partners forgot the script, and they had a lot of fun because she laughed since in some moments they didn't what to say.

The second time that we met, we finished to revoring the scenes that we couldn't the time before, and this doesn't cost us much time. However this time, we have to join the different scenes and put the details of the video. It was funny too, but less than recover the scenes.
I have to say that it was a great experience because it was a funny task, in which we could laugh, learn, and discover new things that we didn't before.

 

Well I Have chosen this blog becuase I think that it is very interesting since you can find here some tolos to teach and you cand find here many things about primary education.

 

 

 

I also have chosen this blog of my partners, becuase It's chool is a very hard-working group and because I have a lot of fun with their blog.  Congratulations!!

I come here with the information of the week!

Hi everyone! I am Silvia and this week it is my turn of giving you the news. Yes, you have guessed it, I am the JOURNALIST!

This week we have continued working in the LOMCE and, at last, we have done the GAME. Because of that, this week has been a bit hard for our stars, but they have worked very hard and we are very proud of them.

On Monday 20^th we developed the strategy that we went to use during the week in order to learn all the questions that our colleagues had posted the week before and, for doing the work more fair for the stars too, the coach (Marina Crevillén) asked us in order that our stars were studying all the week and in the weekend they only had to revise the questions.

And, finally… the big day arrives!

On Monday 27^th we started the game using a version of the traditional game “Snakes and Ladders” in which after each movement, Linda did a question to our stars and, if they pass, continue playing and, if they fail, the turn pass to the stars of other group. Meanwhile the rest of the group was encouraging to our stars, each group in their own way, all of them very interesting and originals.

Finally, on Thursday 30^th, as we could not finish the game the previous day, we did the final part of the game and I must say that, at least in our case, we have lived the game with more stress that the previous day, I suppose that because it was the end of the game and, although we had a good position, the situation could change in any moment. But I have now said enough. Do you want to know who won? Well… the winner was (sound of drums)… POWER TEACHERS!

Yes, we were the winners! Can you believe it? We are very proud of our stars (Alba and Anthea) because they did a great job and even if they had not won, we know that they made a big effort and we must be very proud and grateful to them because of that.

Now I am going to recommend you two different blogs.

On the one way we have the blog PUERTAS A LA IMAGINACIÓN, created by a teacher of art, although, even if the blog is focused on this subject, we can find a lot of tools and activity that we can apply to other subjects too. For this reason I have chosen this blog, because in it you can find manual activities, activities in which the children can use the ICT, tools 2.0, digital books about plastic arts and a lot of things more that the teachers (and even the mothers, fathers and/or babysitters in some occasions and aspects) can use in order to make the teaching and the learning more dynamic, funny and modern. On the other hand this week I am going to recommend the blog of the group KEEP CALM AND KEEP ORGANIZED. I have chosen this blog because I think that they deserve it (and not only because they have had the second place in the LOMCE’s game, although congratulations for this) because in the posts on their blog, I can see their hard-work and I think that the way in which they explain the activities of each week is fantastic. In addition, I love the blog’s design too. I think that it has a great style and ha letter clear and easy to read, a factor that in my opinion is very important. Hello everyone! I'm Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week my job is being the JOURNALIST of Power Teachers!

This week, we continue working into the LOMCE topic, but specially into the questions that we made during our Easter holidays. When we finished the class of Monday, where our group with some components of Bussy Bees as Bernabé, Miriam, Yolanda and María,  checked and valued the different questions of topic 1, Linda explained us the next activity into the divided class. 

On Monday 13th, we divided by groups and some components of PowerPuffTeachers as Carmen, Lucía and Ana came with us to work together with topic 4. Our job to that class was copying every questions and if some of them were repeated, we must take the most complete and the better one. We also must check every mistake that we found.

We divided into three groups to copy some questions by separate and do it quickly, the groups were composed by Ana, Marina and Silvia; Lucía, Carmen and Marina; and Anthea, Alba and me, as you can see into the photos.

Then, when we compared every questions and we decided what of them were the good ones, the star of our group uploaded into her post and show to everybody the Topic 4's questions.

On  the other side, on Thursday 16th,  we were also divided by groups, but this time the divided group was the mine; Alba, Silvia and Anthea were with  Bussy Bees and, Maria and me (Rebeca) were with Keep Kalm and Keep Organized.

In my group, while I was looking for the whole questions of Topic 1 into the class' blogs, they divided the whole cards into three groups to be quickly. We take the best questions of every groups and we decided the good and complete questions to the next session activity. 

On Monday 20th, we had hadn't any homework those weekend, so we didn't know what we were going to do in that class. Linda came and asked the coach or the trainer of each group the methodology that we're going to use to study the topics. Then, she told us that we had time to study and we had the three hours to prepare our next weeks' stars.

In this role, another important task apart from telling the weeks' story, is recommending two blogs, one of our classmates and another of Education. So, my blogs of this week are the following:

To start with our classmates' blog, I'm going to recommend the PowerPuffTeachers one. I have been seeing every blog of the class and this was the one which strikes me because apart from the name that I really love, the design of the blog is very feminist and very beautiful.  I have to say that the organisation is very good too. On the right side, we can see a welcome to everybody who visit them, a photo of them, the visits with a map, the Twitter, every posts separated by months or by role and their names. As I have read, it's a very interesting role and they are working hard and do it as better as they can. I hope you keep like this and I have to congratulate you girls!

On the other side, I'm going to speak about an Education blog called "Sentada en un pupitre de Primaria". I have been read it and it's a very interesting and complete blog. To explain better, it's a blog where you can find some resources of Primary Education. The design is very entertaining because is for children. The organisation is the normal one, in the right side you can find the Creative Common Liscence, the Practices 2.0, the email, some books' sales, the visits, Twitter, Facebook, Scholar calendar, everything that they have uploaded by months and by topic and finally, the ISBN of the blog. And in the upper part, there are some options as their information. Then, the lasts posts are very interesting too, for example resources to have better orthography, some tools for doing comics, some books' recommendation, etc. I hope you visit this blog because it can be useful for ourselves in a future and for everyone who want to use it.

Who has returned?? María is back with breaking news about Powerteachers' work!!

Hi bloggers! I'm María García and this week I have been the JOURNALIST of Powerteachers!

 

After Easter holidays we have to return to our work and continue our tasks with more energy! So, I will explain you how this activity has been.

 

Before our holidays, we were working with the Spanish Educational System in our mindmaps and we continue with this activity but doing different things. In this activity we had to do 24 questions (4 questions for each topic) about the information that we had known about LOMCE.

 

We decided that we had to do the questions before Easter holidays. So, the last week before the holidays we divided each topic for each one of us by a drawing and we said that the next day we had to bring the questions to class for showing them to Linda on Thursday.

 

 

 

Wednesday afternoon, we worked individually with our topics and we did the questions. Many times we didn't know how express a content in a question that wasn't very easy but at the end we got 4 questions of each topic.

 

However, on Thursday we couldn't show the questions to Linda because she didn't come to class. But, we read the questions of all of us and we saw that in our opinion they were good and that we hadn't any doubts.

 

Rebeca suggested that she could print the questions in the right measure and bring them on Monday after holidays. So, we joined all the questions in a document and Rebeca printed them.

And we are back! On Monday after holidays, Linda explained the work that we had to do. The groups (some of them with other components of other groups) had to evaluate the questions that Linda gave us with the survey that she uploaded in the Internet.

 

We worked with a half of the components of BusyBees. They had to evaluate our questions and supervised that we were evaluating in a fair way the questions of the other groups. So, we got into the survey of the Internet and we evaluated the questions of the other groups having the opinion of the BusyBees.

 

 

 

We passed a good time working with BusyBees in this activity and we can see many ways to doing the questions because each group has his way to present the boards and to express the content, so, I think it was interesting.

I have chosen this blog because I really like the organization of it. I will explain: The blog has five parts, Learn to learn, where they offer us all kind of activities or games with the purpose of learning many things. This part has a lot of videos explainig several issues, as the problems in maths and the videos are done by the students and I think this is fantastic and a creative way to explain subjects or topics. It is a great way to help other children or teachers for explaining the content and at the same time, the students that participate in the video are learning and having fun. Other part is Boscos English Corner, other blog of the same school but this is making by the English department. Other one, is Study Techniques, where there are many advices about how study and the better way to study and learn. It is awesome because it includes videos about people giving advices, vignettes, and photos that catch the attention of the children and that are useful for them. Cluboscos is other blog of the same school but about the activities that they develop in their free time as excursions or visits and this is so good. Finally, Animation in the lecture, other blog where you can see news about lecture, advices for improving the ortohgraphic, history about the lecture...

 

The blog has several tags for doing the search easily and quickly and the blog includes things like the sentence corner that I think it is a little good detail.

 

I really love this blog because this school give us many useful things about several topics and overall from their experience. I appreciate the fact of including the children of this school for doing the videos. It is awesome. So, I think that everyone has to see this blog because it is so original and useful for students, teachers and families.

To end with, I have chosen the blog of 7Up because I really like the way they organize the blog. I love the pencil-cursor, it is so fun! Moreover, the structure of the different parts: the roles, the task and the blog archive. The photo of the apple and the sentence in the blackboard are great and too decorative. Finally, I have to say that the posts are really good because they follow a structure and I like that 7up use several colours for many words. Congratulations guys!!

Let's tell the story of the week!

Hi bloggers! I'm Anthea, the journalist this week. As you already know, my work consists on telling the day by day of the group and, at the end, recommend two blogs: one of my classmates and another one from outside, but related to education. 

The activity this week was about doing two mind maps connected to the Spanish Educational System, each one about one topic, ours were 1 (An Overview of the Educational System) and 4 (Organisational Variations and Alternative Structures in Primary Education: Rural Schools, Itinerancy and non-regular schooling, Bilingual Teaching and Distance Education).

Firstly, on Monday, after Linda explained the work for the week, the facilitator divided it so that we could start doing the project. Afterwards we decided to meet on Tuesday, because it wuold be better preparing the information and having clear ideas before we start working. In this way, we could save time the following day by having everything read.

Secondly, on Tuesday, we were at the library completing the mind maps for being able to show them to Linda on Thursday, in such a way, we would have the chance for correcting the mistakes we could have committed while we were doing them.

We thought that it would take less time, but the reality is that we can say that we closed the library... as you can see.

We wanted to do what we had though at the beginning, so we had to spend all the needed time there. But it doesn't mind, we make the effort and we did almost everything.

Finally, on Monday, we had to work with the star of the group Busy Bees (Ana) and a half of the group Keep Calm and Keep Organized (Elena, Noelia and Ángela). This day, we had to look what was right and wrong of the topic four's mind maps and mark them by using an online questionnaire provided by the teacher. In addition, we had to complete the Busy Bees' mind map.

Now, the second part of my role. I have to choose two blogs.

The first one is... the Busy Bees' blog!!! This group has a very fun, organised and clear blog. It's understandable and  easy to read and find last posts.

Congratulations guys, you have a really good blog. I enjoy reading your posts and... what's more! Not only the post, but also seeing your expositions, which are great! Go on working like this! Good work.

And to conclude mi post I want to recommend an educational blog which talks about the education in Latin America and the Caribbean.

There is not a quality education there, so in this blog they fight for it, they want children to receive a good education. For this reason I can't stop admiring them. Maybe they won't achieve anything, but they try. An that's what has made me suggest to you the blog.

Extra, Extra! The journalist has just arrived to town! Don't miss a second of it!

Hi bloggers! I'm Alba García and this week I've been the journalist! My job this week is to document how our week doing the task has been and also recommend a blog from the class and an educational blog, so here you have it!

This week we had to make an animated video in which we would summarize what we have learned so far in the course School Organization and Educational Resources. At first we were a bit worried as we had never done a video of those characteristics, but we decided to take it as a new challenge and became very excited about it. There is always a first time for everything, so we had to achieve our best and demonstrate to ourselves that we could do anything, even if we had never done it before.

On Monday in class our teacher, Linda, told us two Web 2.0 tools in which we could do the videos. She said that one of them was a bit more challenging than the other, so we decided to face the complete challenge and make it a case of all or nothing. Once we were facing something completely new, why not try to push ourselves as far as possible and try to make our best? In life you shouldn't be content with doing what requires the less effort. On the contrary, you must always try new things which will help you show everyone, but mainly yourself, that you are capable of doing new things and doing them great!

At the beginning of the week, once we knew what the new task would be like, Anthea Clemente (the facilitator) told us to make each one of us an outline with what we considered we had learned not only with the tasks, but with the subject in general. We then met on Tuesday and did a brainstorm on the blackboard with all our ideas and suggestions for the video and, once everything was clear, we went ahead with the video.

At first it took as a while to know how Moovly, the web 2.0 tool we used, worked and to see all the options it offered us, but we soon understood it. We decided together how we would structure the video and the colours we would use for the different backgrounds. As we decided to divide the video in three sections which we would then link with the TPACK model, we decided to use the same colour in the section's background as in its corresponding circle of the TPACK model, as you can see in the video you can find in the Star's post. We thought that in that way it would be more visual and the contents in each of the sections would be linked more easily with the TPACK model.

We distributed the work in a way that we all were working. While some of us were doing the video, others looked for the photos we wanted to include and others searched for the song. Probably, the worse aspect of looking for the song and photos was that they had to have Creative Commons License, which was particularly difficult for the song as we couldn't find one we liked for the video. Because of that, it took us a long time to find one. We first looked for the song in Jamendo, a website were you can find music free of CopyRight, but as we couldn't find one that really convinced us we thought of SoundCloud, a website where people from all around the world upload their own songs and remixes of known songs. However, we didn't know if SoundCloud's music had Creative Commons License, so we got in the official website of Creative Commons and found a list of some places where we could find music with CCL and....... SoundCloud was in that list!!!! Having our problem solved, we decided to use a remix of Sublime's amazing "What I Got".

As the video wasn't finished yet, we finished it along the week and met on Sunday to finish details such as including voices in the video, the song, doing the "to conclude"  part of the video and including the credits. We tried to do the intro of the video singing what we had written in "Hey Brother"'s rythm, and after recording ourselves thousands of times until it didn't sound too loud or too bad, we finally got some decent recordings of what we wanted to include. BUT when we attatched the audios to the video we sadly realized that it was too slow for the pace of the video and we had to forget about that as it didn't match the images. Nevertheless, we were VERY happy to use the remix of "What I Got" as it is quite a cheerful song that engages you from the first second it is played. Besides, it looked perfect with out little boy from the video!

Then the day of the contest came, and after watching all the groups' videos (which I had to say were incredibly good in general under our point of view) each group had to vote the others as in Eurovision. Watching the facilitators of each group, who were the spokespeople, telling the group's votes as if they really were in Eurovision was quite fun and also something we had never thought of doing!

Moving on to the second part of my role, I would like to recommend you Seven UP!'s blog. I really like the distribution and contents of the blog. Stitch's GIF is a fun way to welcome visitors which instantly puts you in a good mood. Apart from being a good looking blog, it is perfectly structured in a way that it is very easy to find the post which you are looking for, either searching for it by task, role or topic. As for their posts, they document very well what they do and present it in an attractive way that engages the reader. Keep up the good work guys!

To finish with, I would like to recommend you Educalandia, an educational website where parents and teachers can find various resources and children can find educational games and interactive pages to practice what they have learned at school. Furthermore, it is very well structured as at the top it shows a menu where you can go to the Home, a page destinated for students, a Blog, a page on Resources and another one containing educational games. Besides, you can also search for what you want by topic or even by educational level, something which can solve many problems at the same time as it quickens research at the website. I hope you find my recommendation useful!
