The boss is here!

Hi everyone! I'm Anthea, and this week I have been the facilitator of my group. As you know, my role consists on seeing what the activity is about, telling the other members of the group how to work, what thay have to do, and seeing if they do their task and upload their posts.

Well, this week we have had to work on leadership, for which we have created four profiles on Fakebook. As its name shows, they are fake, not real. Also, more information about the kinds of leaders has been searched in order to understand them better and know more about them.

Then, we had problems with the time, as we couldn't finish the activity the day we met, so we decided to complete it at home and put everything in common another day.

Finally, the last day in class, the stars had to be in pairs and look for the information about the leadership styles in the other profiles, so they would be able to make and answer questions. This day each group had to work with the others, who were people we hadn't worked with before, so we (and also the other ones) have had to adapt as fast as we could to work properly with them.

FACILITATOR

Hi bloggers! I'm Alba García and I've been the facilitator during this week's task, which was on the Coexistence Plan.

As we had to do a video about  the case described by one of the groups, I acted as the director of the video, providing ideas and discussing with my team-mates where we could film and how we could represent the case.

Furthermore, we also wrote together the scrip of the video. This way, I made sure that everyone felt represented in the video as all of our ideas would be taken into account in the production of the activity. Besides, when one of the components of our group had to leave, I took her place and became also the camera person.

I also assigned one role to each person:

Rebeca Cascales would be the School Head.
Anthea Clemente would be the assisstant.
Marina Crevillén would be the camera person.
Silvia García would be the anchor.
María García would be the interviewer.
And finally, I would be the director of the video.

So the video was finished on time, I made sure that the interviews were subtitled by Friday and that the video was mounted that same day.

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!! HERE IS THE FACILITATOR :D

First of all I want to say that this week has been an exciting week, since this week the class have played a game, in which the different groups of SOYER have to reach the target, and the target was the number 100, and to do this, they had to answer questions correctly.

To play the game I told to my group that we could wear similar clothes, like a white t-shirts, do a placar with the name of out group, "power teachers", and bring pompons. I asigned to each one to do one thing. To sum up this week we (the members of my group who weren't stars and me) have been like cheerleaders. Our main goal was cheer the stars of our group.

On the other hand, this week my goal has been too, asking to the stars of my groups Alba y Anthea about the questions of the game to do it them easier. I tried asking them every day about the questions, with the goal that they would know the questions very well.
Finally I have to say that we have been the winners of the game, so I am very proud of the work of my colleges, and especially of my dear stars.

I see you next week readers!!!!!!

Did you miss me? I am the BOSS!

Hi bloggers! I am Silvia García and I am here a week more, this time since the role of the facilitator.

This week has been a bit weird because we have not had an activity in group as the others weeks. This time we have organized and selected the questions for the game about the LOMCE, specifically about the topics 1 and 4 (we had to choose ten questions for each topic between all the questions that the groups have done) and we have decided the strategy that we are going to use this week in order to learn these questions, above all in the case of the stars.

For these activities the roles have been:

FACILITATOR: Silvia García martínez

JOURNALIST: Rebeca cascales ribera

ANALYST: maría garcía zamora

TRANSLATOR: anthea clemente sharp

CURATOR-FARMER: alba García subiela

STAR: marina crevillén Fernández

On Thursday 16th we did the selection of the questions. Our group was divided in two and one part had to work with the group of Keep Kalm and Keep Organized in the Topic 1 and the other part with the group of Busy Bees in the Topic 4. For this activity I tried that each one of us worked with the topic that we had worked more. After, each part of the group organized the questions’ selection in a different way, depending on the other group too.

On Monday 20th we organized the strategy that we are going to follow this week. In this case I have not divided the work because the star of this week (Marina Crevillén) has been the coach of our next stars and, although we have helped them and given our opinion, she has decided the steps to follow.

I must say that one of the aspects that I have enjoyed more this week has been working with the other groups because we have learnt about how they work and if we can change something in order to improve. In addition, to work with other people has been an interesting experience too, because, although I love my group, it is always good to realise that you can work with other people too in a good way if it is necessary. For instance, when we worked with the Busy Bees in the selection of the questions about the Topic 4, I felt very glad when we could organize the work in a fast and efficient way, although we never had worked together before.

Be careful! The BOSS is here, now!

Hello bloggers!

My name is Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week, my role has been the FACILITATOR again. The facilitator has to coordinate the group, distribute the different roles and control that the whole group have worked properly and if it is any problem, try to solve it. He also must guarantee the quality of our blog and if someone comments, he's the responsible of answer.

The roles of this week are the same of the first week, we all have passed into every roles. So, the roles are the following:
FACILITATOR: REBECA CASCALES RIBERA

JOURNALIST: MARÍA GARCÍA ZAMORA

ANALYST: ANTHEA CLEMENTE SHARP

TRANSLATOR: ALBA GARCÍA SUBIELA

CURATOR-FARMER: MARINA CREVILLÉN FERNÁNDEZ

STAR: SILVIA GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ
To summarise the week, we started when Linda explained the week's activity and the facilitator, me in this case, decided that we would do a draw to divide the 6 topics and each one of the group would do 4 questions of its topic.

The Tuesday 24th of March, we met in Anthea's house to do another subject's project and when we finished, I did papers with the numbers and each one achieve her topic. The topic's distribution is the following:
TOPIC 1: Marina

TOPIC 2: María

TOPIC3: Silvia

TOPIC 4: Rebeca

TOPIC 5: Alba

TOPIC 6: Anthea
We decided that the questions must be done on Tuesday, and if we have any question, ask to Linda in class.

On Tuesday, we would read every questions of every member of the group and we would tell our opinions. If some question must be changed, we would change it. But, the topic 5 didn't be uploaded on time and our classmate Alba couldn't have it for this day, so she would ask for it and the next day we would have her questions, we would comment it on Whatsapp.

Then, I would print it during Easter holidays and I would bring it the next day of class.

Moreover, working in group is a pleasure from day one. The truth is that it is difficult but we have understood it properly, so that always comes out all right in the end. We help each other and that makes us feel confident for future projects.

To conclude, we really enjoy writing posts and telling our stories and anecdotes. We hope you enjoy as much as we do it!

''Are you ready Powerteachers?'' -Yes, boss!! ''I can't hear you!'' -We are boss! ♪ ♫

Hi bloggers! I'm María García and this week I have been the facilitator! As you have already known, the facilitator has to divide the work of the activity and make sure that all the components work and do their roles.

The roles of this week have been...

REBECA CASCALES RIBERA = STAR
ANTHEA CLEMENTE SHARP = JOURNALIST
MARINA CREVILLÉN FERNÁNDEZ = TRANSLATOR
SILVIA GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ = CURATOR FARMER
ALBA GARCÍA SUBIELA = ANALYST
MARÍA GARCÍA ZAMORA = FACILITATOR

This week the activity has been doing two mindmaps about several topics about the LOMCE. My group had to do the mindmaps of the first (''An overview of the Educational System'') and the fourth topic (''Organisational variations and alternative structures in Primary Education''). So, as we are six in the group I decided on Monday to do groups of three and each group had to do one topic and collect the main information to do a good mindmap for the following day (Tuesday).
The first topic has been done by Anthea Clemente, Alba García and me and the fourth topic by Rebeca Cascales, Marina Crevillén and Silvia García.

However, I made a mistake: In the web page of the topic one there are six different points. So, I divided these points between Anthea, Alba and me, and I assigned two points for each one. The problem was that the following day, Anthea said me that in one of her points there were many documents for see and that was a lot for only her, so she didn't do all of these documents. Moreover, one of the points of Alba was references of other pages and from that we didn't take any information. So, when we met this day (Tuesday) the group of the topic four had almost the whole information but my group (topic one) didn't. We had to collect the information of some documents more. So, Anthea, Alba and me did the rest of information that we needed to complete our mindmap.

Moreover, in the beginning, we thought that we had to compare the LOE with the LOMCE, so, for example, when I did my points of the topic one I was confused because I was seeing that the information that it was on the page was the same that I was seeing in the document of the LOMCE. But, then I realized that the page where I was taking the information was modified and had the information of the LOMCE that it was what we needed. So, Tuesday morning I asked our teacher for guarantee that the purpose of the activity was put the information of the LOMCE in the mindmap and not doing a comparaison.

Our teacher said that it was only necessary the information of the LOMCE. This afternoon, while Rebeca, Marina and Silvia were doing the mindmap about the topic four, the others took the missing information. We collected all and we did a part of the mindmap. When the group of topic four finished, they passed the evaluations of the activity of the videos of ''What have we learned?'' activity to a post for upload to our blog.

As Anthea, Alba and me didn't finish the mindmap in Cmap Tools (we had the whole information in several outlines), Alba and me finished it the Friday afternoon because we lived in the same town, so we can did it more comfortably.

I know that if I would have realized that one of the points of Anthea was longer than the others and I'd have divided better the points, we would finished the mindmap of the topic one Tuesday afternoon. But I had a mistake. However, we did the activity well and I think that we worked almost in a same way. This experience will help me to organize better the future works.

So, I want to thank my partners for being excellent hard-working persons and for understanding my little mistake.

I hope our mindmaps give you a good and clear information about the LOMCE and that you visit our blog one more week!

The facilitator is here, let's organise!!!

Hi bloggers! I'm Anthea, and this week I have been the facilitator of the group. As you already know from last weeks, the facilitator has to organise and divide the work, so that every member of the group knows what she must do.

The roles this week have been the following:

Rebeca Cascales Ribera – CURATOR/FARMER
anthea clemente sharp - FACILITATOR
marina crevillén fernández - ANALYST
silvia garcía martínez - TRANSLATOR
alba garcía subiela - JOURNALIST
maría garcía zamora - STAR

Thes week, the activity has been a kind of summary of the four previous activities in a video of one minute and a half by using one of the programmes proposed by Linda: Powtoons or Moovly. It has been up to us.

We put in common the main ideas of each task for having the video as complete as possible. Then, we thought about the organisation of the video, how we were going to structure it, which aspects we were going to mention... and, even, I divide the group into two groups, so that we could work better. We though the best idea was to include every task in the related part of the first task, in a way that it wasn't just telling what each task was about.

Finally, on Thursday, we showed the video to Linda to know what we could improve, add or remove.

To conclude, I would like to congratulate the members' group for working so hard. So girls, keep up the good work!

Let's organize this a bit!

Hello bloggers! I'm Alba García and this week I've been the facilitator. My job has been to organize and distribute the activity about The Dark Side of Textbooks among my group-mates to make the activity easier and faster. In my opinion, the most important thing I had to do was distributing well the time so all of as were working at the same level and profited the time the better we could.

The roles for this week have been the following:

Rebeca Cascales Ribera – translator
anthea clemente sharp - star
marina crevillén fernández - journalist
silvia garcía martínez - analyst
alba garcía subiela - facilitator
maría garcía zamora - curator / farmer

This week's activity has been quite fun, so we all worked very well together and did our job correctly. We had to do a piece of work using a Web 2.0 tool which illustrated the dark side of textbooks, and we chose to do a comic. Doing a comic was a great challenge as none of us had done one before, so we were really looking for it.

First of all, we had to read some documents in order to draw the key points on which we would base our comic. So we didn't spend too much time reading, I decided to devide the different documents on Monday in a way that the six of us had to read more or less the same as the others, and we all read the same. This way we profited better the time.

Then, when we met on Tuesday and we put together what each one of us had read and noted down the main points common between the different documents. I found this method of dividing the information and then doing a brainstorm to put together the main information very effective as we all knew what the topic was about and could talk about it, and we didn't "lose" time reading things that one of our collegues could read and explain to us.

Then, once we had developed a common outline with the information, we decided what the comic would be about. We thought that going beyond the information and interpreting it would be interesting, so we decided to represent an extreme situation caused by "the dark side of textbooks". I planned the comic in a whiteboard by making an schema of the different vignettes with what we would include in each one of them.

As we are six components in the group, I decided to divide each vignette for each component, so we all worked on the same things and took more or less the same time. However, one of the components had to leave earlier, so we did her vignette and, as she was the star, I told her to write an outline of what each vignette was about so she know what to say in the exposition.

It is very important and worthwhile to organize ourselves and learn how to work in groups, as for our future job, being teachers, we need to organize very well every lesson and plan different possibilities in case one method or explanation doesn't work for our students. We also need to know how to work in groups and be the leaders. For instance, in schools there are different departments for the different subjects and each department has a "boss", who is responsible for coordinating the members of the department, just as the Facilitator coordinates the members of her group.

Yes Sir, of course Sir, whatever you say Sir! Hello my lovers, the facilitator is here! ♥

Hello everybody!

My name is Marina Crevillén Fernández and this week my role has been the facilitator.

This week my colleagues have suffered  an inhuman torture, but the surprise has been that they have survived.

The roles of this week are the following:

Anthea Clemente Sharp – farmer
Rebeca Cascales Ribera – analyst
Alba Garcia Subiela – star
María Garcia Zamora – translator
Silvia Garcia Martínez – journalist
Marina Crevillén Fernández – facilitator

Throughout this week I have to control and organize the group. I think that I haven't been too sergeant since, they still love me.
My role started when Linda commenced to explain this activity, which one was about how we can prepare a class for children of primary school.

First of all I want to expound you how I divided the work. First and foremost, on Monday afternoon I read the document that Linda uploaded on internet. After that, I divided the webpages and the videos that we had to read to do this work. My colleagues and me had to read and sum up the different resources to the next meeting, which was on wednesday morning. I have say that we took advantage of the days of strike to work, since we were overwhelmed, since working in group it's difficult because all members of the group have different lifestyle, different routines and different activities, so this a disadvantage since it was so difficult to be agree the six persons of the group.

Moreover, working in group is always something important and difficult because of the different opinions, different ways of doing things, etc. But in this case we have cordinated very well, I have to congratulate my colleagues for his hard-work, and for be open-minded people, since without them it wouldn't have been posible to prepar this work.

To conclude, we're proud of our work, despite that we had some mistakes doing it which one we have edited.

We hope you enjoy with us.

The BOSS has arrived!

Hi everyone! I am Silvia García Martínez and this week I have been the facilitator of the group.

First of all I am going to tell you who has done the different roles this week:

Alba garcía subiela – farmer
María García Zamora – analyst
Marina crevillén Fernández – star
Anthea clemente Sharp – translator
Rebeca cascales ribera – journalist
Silvia garcía martínez – facilitator

Secondly I am going to talk about the activity of this week, which was based in how the media is not neutral and the consequences that this can have in the education. In the activity we have had to investigate about three types of map projections (Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal), the differences between them and their influence and use in the society. After that we have chosen two countries, explained how they are represented in the different projections and, finally, decided which projection we would use to represent these countries. Thirdly, we had to find another media that also distorts the information depending on if you use one version or another. Afterwards we have looked for a “Treasure Hunt” activity and, finally, we have had to do a reflexion between this activity and the slogan “Media is not neutral”.

We started with this activity the last Monday. After Linda explained it in class I read the information about the activity and informed the rest of my group about what we had to do and search for. I suggested them that we could distribute the work or search the six about all the information to understand it better. Finally, we decided to do the second and planned to meet the on Wednesday to put it together. I must say in this part that, although we all did our part and looked for the information, I realized that probably to divide the work between two or three people that explained their part to the others would have been more productive, because at the end we lost a lot of time putting together all the information, but it is a new thing that we can take into account for the next activity. Then, the next day, we used Linda’s hour to develop the exposition of the activity, which we decided to make part with posters and part with PowerPoint. After decide it, as we couldn’t meet more, I divided the different parts that we had to finish. First three people of the group would do the three map projections’ posters, another would change the part of the media that we had wrong and, finally, another person would make the power point of the “Treasure Hunt”.

As I have said we have had some problems with the organization although, in my opinion, we worked together to resolve them and lastly we could do a good activity and we can use these problems to know what work or doesn’t work for us, as we can do the activities faster and easier and, in summary, to improve.

Finally, I have had the opportunity to speak with the facilitators of other groups, especifically María from the group “Meerkats” and Ana Isabel from the group “Platypus”.  Both have used a similar strategy, which has been to divide the information that each member of the group had to search and after to explain it to the others and to unite it, as I have said that our group could have done to not lose so much time. But the curious thing is that they have been a bit overwhelmed too, but not for dividing badly the work, if not because, in my opinion, their mistake was that although each member looked for a part, they did it when they were together, not before they met, so they lost a precious time doing it. This is the only advice that I give to my classmates because it can be very useful to do the work faster when they are together, although in my opinion they have had a very good organization as I have seen in their works, and they have known how to divide their functions in a good way, a thing that we know that we must improve for the next activity.

The BOSS is here!

Hello everyone! My name is Rebeca Cascales Ribera and  this week my role has been the facilitator.

During this week  I had to coordinate and control the group. Apart from distributing the roles,  I had to direct and control that the whole group had worked properly together. The boss of the group has the task of being the key person in the solution of personal affairs between members and guaranteeing the quality of our blog.

The roles of this week are the following:

To summarise the week, we started when we listened the explanation of Linda at class and the exposition of this project. It was very exciting because it was our first project and it was about something that we've never listened about before, the TPACK model.

TPACK is a combination of three important components as Technology, Pedagogy and Content. Working with this combination would be very interesting because you're using everything and learning from lots of places.

I decided that each group member would read at home the information and do their own schema to make it easier to gather the information in the following meeting, that it would be on Wednesday. We met and we put together all the information and made a common schema about the TPACK. It was like a brainstorm and it was worthwhile because all together gathered the most relevant information. On Thursday, we would meet in the School Organisation and Educational Resources hour of class and would make our poster that would be used to expose the project on Monday by the star.

Moreover, working in group is always something very important and difficult because of the different opinions, different ways of doing things, etc. but in this case, we have coordinated very well as we have done the whole project without misunderstanding, irritations...

To conclude, we're proud of our work and we hope you enjoy with us. I would like to congratulate my group because of the work and of the good experience we have lived.
