Let's analyse a bit!

Hi bloggers! I'm Anthea and I have been the analyst during this task. As you already know, my current role consists on control how we work, not only in group, but also by ourselves.

This time, the task was about the same topic as the week before: the LOMCE, the Spanish Education Law,  which was divided into six parts in our task. But actually the work consisted on making four questions for each topic, so, in total, 24.
As future teachers (or at least we are supposed to be), we have to know what the current law ask us to teach and what children have to learn.

It has been good having more time to prepare this activity, because we had some very hard weeks and this time we have had more time to discuss among us and try to do it better than before. The best thing of this activity has been having the same topic than the week before and realise that we remember many things about the topic we worked in. In this way, it has been more dynamic sharing what we knew, because we did not have to look at the documents as frequently as the times we didn't know almost anything.

But not everything has been a piece of cake! When we though we would be able to finish an activity without any added difficulty, right at the end, we realised that the cards were badly printed, because the lines were not in the place they should have to be. So we basically wasted our money. In order not to spend our money once more, we decided not to printed again and we saw that the other alternative was the use of the correction fluid, although maybe it has not been the best choice, as we have realised.

As students and future teachers we don't stop learning and this week we have keep learning about this topic, but mainly how to make good questions about something. We have learnt to create not easy questions, but a bit more difficult ones. Furthermore, we have learnt to be more cooperative and to give opinions and advises to our colleagues. So this is something we should conserved as a group for the following weeks.

We have to know what the law says (as I have mentioned before), because it is where the contents which have to be taught are. So, in part it is good to be familiar with it; but, on the other hand, it is difficult for anyone because of the continuous changes of the law, each time that a new political party starts directing our country. It good be a really good point having an educational law as the Finnish one (for example), since Finland is one of the best countries that a person can study in.

Finally, I would like to point out that our education it is not a joke or a game, it is something necessary for getting a job, improving our life level or even just for feeling good about oneself.

Be careful! The BOSS is here, now!

Hello bloggers!

My name is Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week, my role has been the FACILITATOR again. The facilitator has to coordinate the group, distribute the different roles and control that the whole group have worked properly and if it is any problem, try to solve it. He also must guarantee the quality of our blog and if someone comments, he's the responsible of answer.

The roles of this week are the same of the first week, we all have passed into every roles. So, the roles are the following:
FACILITATOR: REBECA CASCALES RIBERA

JOURNALIST: MARÍA GARCÍA ZAMORA

ANALYST: ANTHEA CLEMENTE SHARP

TRANSLATOR: ALBA GARCÍA SUBIELA

CURATOR-FARMER: MARINA CREVILLÉN FERNÁNDEZ

STAR: SILVIA GARCÍA MARTÍNEZ
To summarise the week, we started when Linda explained the week's activity and the facilitator, me in this case, decided that we would do a draw to divide the 6 topics and each one of the group would do 4 questions of its topic.

The Tuesday 24th of March, we met in Anthea's house to do another subject's project and when we finished, I did papers with the numbers and each one achieve her topic. The topic's distribution is the following:
TOPIC 1: Marina

TOPIC 2: María

TOPIC3: Silvia

TOPIC 4: Rebeca

TOPIC 5: Alba

TOPIC 6: Anthea
We decided that the questions must be done on Tuesday, and if we have any question, ask to Linda in class.

On Tuesday, we would read every questions of every member of the group and we would tell our opinions. If some question must be changed, we would change it. But, the topic 5 didn't be uploaded on time and our classmate Alba couldn't have it for this day, so she would ask for it and the next day we would have her questions, we would comment it on Whatsapp.

Then, I would print it during Easter holidays and I would bring it the next day of class.

Moreover, working in group is a pleasure from day one. The truth is that it is difficult but we have understood it properly, so that always comes out all right in the end. We help each other and that makes us feel confident for future projects.

To conclude, we really enjoy writing posts and telling our stories and anecdotes. We hope you enjoy as much as we do it!

It's time to analyse the week!!!!

Hello my bloggers, first of all I have to tell you that this week have been a beautiful week since with this task my group and me have had a lot of fun.
First of all I would like to say that the funniest part of the activity was making a video. Since while we were doing it we were remember how the course started and how long time have passed until now. While we were remembering the different tasks that we did we remembered too the bad moments which my group and me have lived, since we had many problems at time to meet.
Apart from the feelings, we have learnt many things, like what is TPACK, how can we use images, videos, music, with a creative common license; how to use many different tools to do a comic, and others things, how to do a presentation in other programme which isn’t power point or prezi, and many things like that. If you can see more about it you can look for in the previous task and in the post of the analyst you can see each task developed deeper, since this task it has been a summarize of all thing that we have done until now.
Well, it’s time to talk about my colleges and me as a group. Firstly I have to say that we always respect to the other opinions, thinking, timetables, problems, and somethings like that. We don’t despise anything from the others, so I thing that is a good characteristic of us. On the other hand, I think that when we meet sometimes we lost time, it could be something normal, since after eight hours of class we don’t want to work six hours more, but how I said before we had serious problems at time to met, so when we met we have to benefit the more we can. So I maybe improving this aspect to the follows weeks, and maybe we work less hours and maybe we have more time to do other things.
This contents are related to other contents for example, that textbooks can’t say always the thruth, so we shouldn’t entrust always in the tools that we use to study, and something like that because they could be wrong. Secondly that we only can use photograph with creative common license in our works and studies. Thirdly, how we have to do an exposition, since we often do exposition in all the degree, and in a future like future teachers we are going to be in a long exposition in our class. And finally, TPACK is related to all our subjects since each one have at least one of the components of TPACK, such as technology, pedagogy, or content.
I think that related to this task there isn’t any connection of this content, apart from that politics and our class have been the same things, like a campaign period to win the public in which each group explain the reasons why the have to win the competition, and after that we have to vote each group and finally a the winner will win a food for each member of the group.

Powerteachers’ live broadcast! From the University of Murcia throughout the World! Here is... the journalist!

Hi bloggers I’m Marina, and this week I have been the journalist. I am sorry about we only met one time during the week, and I don’t tell you too much. But I hope that this task, dear bloggers, is your pleasure.

Fist of all, the Monday 2nd, after Linda explanied us what we had to do this week, we used that hour to divide the work and the facilitator (Alba García Subiela) told us what we had to look for, to have clear ideas on Tuesday

Secondly, on Tuesday we met without what to do. We were thinking to do it an info-graphic, however, we thought that it will be interesting and funny doing a comic, and that was how we decided to do a comic. We don’t know really what about the comic were going to be, but as we developed the activity we did the story about the comic was. Each person of the group did a vignette except Maria who did two vignettes.

Finally, yesterday, our star, Anthea Clemente Sharp, had to explain and answer questions about our comic. Linda told us that we had to do like a gallery in the class with all class’ works.

I chosen this blog, since, first of all I would like to be an English teacher in a future, and I think that nowadays every teacher should have a blog, in which their pupils could ask questions to him/her, and in which they would be able to look for some resources, which ones, the teacher explain in his/her English lessons. And secondly, because I like so much the structure of the blog, since how you can see, it has different sections, like grammar, vocabulary…

As a final point, I recommend the Platypus’ blog of our class. I would like to add that every blogs are very good and very complete but this has something that has kept my attention. I found very funny the Cartoon that they have in the blog and I liked so much their info-graphic which were explained by Megan.

I see you soon!!!!!!!

You don't have to look for the words into a diccionary... I'm here to solve your doubts!

Hello, I'm Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week I'm the TRANSLATOR.
I'm going to explain the main vocabulary of this week's project and I hope you understand the five words I'm going to show.

1.  Text Book

There are many definitions for Textbooks. The main description is that it is a printed object where you can find aspects and ideas  of a particular subject. Textbooks aren't like other books, generally they aren't written by a single author  and they keep on a curriculum for a school system organization depending on the place, so they don't leave free way for imagination.

2. Ideology

The ideology is a belief, a feeling, a creed, a line or a philosophy that someone follows. A person's ideology shows the most closely part of values and explains the acts. For example a kind of an ideology could be the religion, because this will affect the person's point of views of whatever they live in daily life. Depending on the ideology, books will be in a way or into another.

3. Resource

The resources are materials, knowledges, tools that produce benefit in some cases; for example in a process, as an experiment, or in a presentation, to help the presenter to introduce the subject. The utility, limitation and availability are common into the resources. There are lots of kinds of resources and a book will be one of them to help the teacher to explain.

4. eBook

An eBook is an electronic report of a traditional printed book that can be read by using computers, tablets and eBook readers. The trendiest method to download it is from the Internet, into Web Sites; the procedure will last around five minutes. Nowadays, eBooks are used more and more to introduce the ICT in Education.

5. Fallacy

A fallacy is a mistaken argument based on a falsehood and lies. There are lots of types of fallacies such as the Ignorance, Authority, Popular Opinion, etc. A fallacy related with textbooks could be when children obey what textbooks say before than what teacher says.

The JOURNALIST is here!!!

Hello bloggers! I'm Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week I am the JOURNALIST!

First of all, I will tell you what this activity is about:

The activity consists in the Treasure Hunt and the cartographic projections of maps, according to the different ways of seeing the countries depending on the maps; for example, why Germany in one map is in the centre of the Europe and in the others is in another place. And also, how this affects in media.

Firstly, we should know the different map projections of Robinson, Mercator and Azimuthal. When we dominate this aspect, we have to choose two countries of the world and tell what is the best projection of the three to represent it. Thirdly, we have to find a resource to teach the pupils, where it happens the same as in the different projections. Moreover, we have to find a blog with an activity of a Treasure Hunt and the content should be academic. And finally, we should make a conclusion as a reflexion of "Media are not neutral" regarding our project.

On Monday 16th, when the expositions of TPACK finished, our teacher showed us the new project called "Treasures  Hunt: cartographic projections" with a video and explained us the steps that we had to follow.

The facilitator of this week (Silvia García) decided that we had to look for information about the three authors and the Treasure Hunt at home and we would meet on Wednesday to gather the whole information together.

We met in a study room in Luis Vives' library on Wednesday 18th and we put together the information of the three map projections' authors and we did a guideline with the relevant information. When we had it, we decided the two countries to investigate. At the beginning, we thought in Italy, Belgium and Australia, but finally, we decided to do it about Germany and Australia.

To choose what the best projection for them is, we made a little schema in the whiteboard and we decided with it, as you can see here:

Then, we used a blog of a Treasure Hunt that is about mathematics, but the questions weren't appropriate as they asked to look for someone who knew the answer. So, when Linda said on Tuesday 19th that the Treasure Hunt should have academic questions for children and they need to guess the answer to keep on, we had to change the Treasure Hunt, and we found another one with questions about "Cuentos de autor".

This wasn't the only thing that we changed, on Wednesday we chose the Resource that like projections also shows distortions, but we didn't know if it should be about academic or whatever content. Therefore, we did it about the false profile in chatting where people lie to someone else saying that he's someone that he really isn't. As we weren't sure of it, we asked Linda in the last class and she told us that it had to be about school curricula and how we would teach it to the pupils in a future. We changed it and we spoke about the different versions of History in textbooks depending on the editorial's ideology, the place where it's written, etc.

On Thursday, we came to the class and we decided the way to represent it in class the following Monday.  Well, the three map projections about the two countries would be represented in three different posters, so we bought three blue cardboards and green, yellow and red EVA foam; and the other parts of the activity would be represent it in a Power Point.

We divided every part of the project and in the weekend we did it at home for the exposition. The three maps are different from one another depending on the shape:  the Azimuthal one would be a circle, the Mercator one a rectangle and finally, the Robinson one with its own shape. Every map should have marked Australia and Germany in different colours to highlight them. And the Power Point should be very interesting and original, specially  the part of the Treasure Hunt.

Finally, on Monday 23th, the star (Marina Crevillén) exposed our project in class but she didn't do it alone, she shared the role of star with two stars  from other groups: Platypus Soyer and Meerkats. At the beginning, it was difficult because each group had different countries, different examples of media, different treasure hunts, etc. but finally, we decided to take a part from each group and it had been a good presentation between the three stars.

This week, the journalist had to add another part in the post which is the perspective of the other group's journalists about their groups. They have coincided in the same trouble, they had told me that the most difficult thing for them had been to meet together because they are from different towns or cities. And for example, in the Platypus Soyer group, the majority of them go to the conservatory, so they can't all meet together, and finally they decided to share the task and each member of the group would do something at home. The other group, Meerkats told me that they couldn't meet together and a person who couldn't meet with them in the chosen timetable had done the whole poster alone to contrast the job with their classmates.

Another duty of the journalist is to choose a blog from outside the class and a blog from our own class. So, first I'm going to show you one from outside the class I like:

http://www.demoslavueltaaldia.com/?gclid=COej2Pbt-MMCFQTKtAoda30Atw

I have chosen this blog because I really like cooking, knowing news recipes and eating new flavours. So, I wanted that the blog was of food. Apart for this, I would like to show the presentation of the blog, which is very interesting, beautiful and attractive. On the top of the blog, you can find the option to register yourself or to access into your count. Then, you have different options as home, recipes, daily live, clues, courses, recipe's videos, competition and to participate. While you are taking down, you can see last new perspectives and lots of aspects related with that.
So, eaters make a note of this and try to cook one of their recipes!

As a final point, I recommend the ItsChOOL's blog of our class. I would like to add that every blogs are very good and very complete but this has something that has kept my attention. In my opinion, the photography of the back is very interesting and clear to show the pedagogical part of the education, what we are learning, I mean how to teach children. Apart from this, the different parts of the right side are also complete with the Instagram, Twitter, every archives, etc. I hope you like this blog and you enjoy reading it, it's very interesting.
