Hi bloggers, I am Silvia! This is our last week and we have to say goodbye since the role of the TRANSLATOR.

This week we have worked with the different types of LEADERSHIP, more specifically with the AUTHORITARIAN, the PARTICIPATIVE, the TRANSACTIONAL and the TRANSFORMATIONAL. Are you a bit confused? Don’t worry! We felt the same when we started the activity, so here you can find the principal definitions that are going to help you for understanding the different roles of this activity.

LEADERSHIP:

The leadership is based in the guide that someone gives to some people for doing something. There are different perceptions of leaders, since a political to a religious. The leader stablishes the steps to follow and he or she must be secure that these steps are achieved. In addition a leader must have a good vision for developing good ideas and to know how he or she can motivate to the rest of people that are following him or her.

AUTHORITARIAN:

One of the four types of leaders who is characterized for having a big control over all the aspects of the work, including the workers, who usually have not got the opportunity for giving their opinions or ideas because, as we have said the boss is who control everything and the rest of the people have a limit liberty.

PARTICIPATIVE:

It is other of the types of leadership that, as its own name indicates, is based in the participation of all the members of the work. I mean, the participative leader allows that the people give their own ideas, above all in decisions that affect themselves. In addition, this type of leadership also allows a higher work in group.

TRANSACTIONAL:

This third type is based in the motivation of their workers using rewards and punishments. This leader is very organized and uses more the rewards than the punishments, although these last can be present too. He or she gives all the responsibility to the worker when gives an order, and the worker is the responsible in all the moment about this tasks.

TRANSFORMATIONAL:

The last type is characterized by the passion and the energy. He or she worries about the workers and thinks that with the appropriate motivation they can do great things. This type of leader is confident and charismatic, a thing that if they do not know control can give them problems in the suture for developing the activities or tasks that they want.

   Coexistence Plan

The Coexistence Plan is a document prepared my each educational centres that prevents and achieves the correct environment for the class; the procedures of acting with some behavioural problems to solve or to avoid it. Inside this plan, the Tutorial Plan is also important because is the idea that the tutor and some teachers have to sort  the troubles out.

   Conflictive

'Conflictive' is an adjective that comes from the substantive 'conflict' which means a disagreement or a contradiction, something difficult to result. In this topic we speak about a 'Conflictive situation' that has to be solved with the Coexistence Plan by the School Leader Team in several and specific cases.

The School Leader Team is the group in charge of the direction, instructions and guidance of the pupils, also be known as a team, with the aim of achieving a certain goal.       Video

A video is a visual multimedia source that can include some images, pictures, sounds and music. It is transmitted in a screen and you can edit and form it. In this topic, we have done the documentary with a video to show it in class in front of the whole class by the screen.

Snakes & Ladders: It is a board game where the players (2 or more) have to roll a die and advance through the squares to the last one with their tiles. This game includes snakes and ladders which connect several squares. With the snakes you move back through the board and with the ladders you advance.

Consider: The act of thinking in detail something. In the game, our stars have to consider very well the answer that they had to say. So, we can define this verb in this case as reflect about the answer of a question with a partner to put in common the knowledge about the topic that they have worked before.

Finally, I want to say that I am so proud of my partners (my group and the other groups) for playing this game so well. The stars of each team are fantastic and I think all the groups have worked a lot and very well. This game (that other Powerteacher will explain you in other post) have been great and fun!

Hi everyone! I'm Anthea, the translator! As you already know, my role consists on looking for five words related to the weekly activity and defining them. Thus week it has been a bit more difficult, because we have continued working on the last project, which is about the Basics of the Spanish Educational System, and some important words had been defined before. Manager

The manager is the person who trains, guides, controls, someone for something: a sport, a contest... but, in this case, this person is in charge of training participants of a game that have to memorize a series of questions, and, then, being able to answer them correctly and in a short time after they had been asked.

Strategy

Leader

Training

Supporter
The supporter is someone who encourages others to do something as well as they can, mainly when there are two or more teams or groups competing for the same thing. Hi bloggers! How has Easter been? It's been a while since we last updated our blog, so let's get to it! 

I'm Alba García and my role for this activity has been the translator. I have to admit that this week it is a bit challenging as we have been working on the previous task, which means that the main keywords for these activities have already been defined by the previous translator. Because of that, I have decided to offer you the definition of some key points which have helped us to work properly as a group not only for this activity, but also since the course began. I have also included "evaluation" because for this task we had to evaluate the other groups' questions, and "supervision" as while we where evaluating the questions we were supervised by another group so they made sure that we evaluated the others fairly.

* Communication: it is the act which takes place when two or more people exchange information, ideas, thoughts... An effective communication is essential in a group of people who are working together.

* Support: to encourage someone and approve his or her ideas to help them be successful (I'd like to point out that we should always be critical). Hello everybody, the translator is here!!

Law: It's a system of rules which are enforced through social institutions to the correct govern behaviour. The two laws we have worked this week are LOE, which is the old one and LOMCE which is the one we have now and which changed in order to improve the previous one.


LOE: Is the state organic law which regulates the Educational system in Spain. This law cesed to be valid when the government approved the LOMCE.


LOMCE: LOMCE is the " ley organica para la mejora de la calidad educativa ", is also known like Wert's law, which modifies the LOE in some aspects in order to have a better education.


Educational system: An educational systems contains everythings related to education, like school resources, educational laws, but this educational systems only have state schools.


Organization: Is the way through which one, people divide and organise the things. In many cases like in the case of education, the organization was governed by educational laws.

Hi bloggers! I am Silvia García. We are here one week more and this time I am the translator of the Power Teachers!

This week we have done a summary about all the tasks that we have done until this moment. We have used the tool called Moovly to do a video for this activity. This video has been divided in three main parts: the technological resources that we have used during the subject, the contents that we have learnt and, finally, the pedagogy methods that the teacher has applied and we have learnt in order to use them in our future as teachers.

A summary is a short synopsis about something, explaining the main points in a clear way in order to understand the more important facts of a longer text, activity, video…

TECHNOLOGICAL RESOURCES:

The technological resources can include from images, music and text to technological programmes that can help you to develop different ways to explain or to present something. The main thing that we must take into account when we use technological resources is that all of them have to be protected by software licencing, patents and copyrights or intellectual property, so if you are going to use them you must  recognize who has created it, in order to respect the work of that person.

PEDAGOGY:

Along the time the definition of pedagogy has gone changing and even now we can define it in different ways. 1.  Text Book

There are many definitions for Textbooks. The main description is that it is a printed object where you can find aspects and ideas  of a particular subject. Textbooks aren't like other books, generally they aren't written by a single author  and they keep on a curriculum for a school system organization depending on the place, so they don't leave free way for imagination.

2. Ideology

The ideology is a belief, a feeling, a creed, a line or a philosophy that someone follows. A person's ideology shows the most closely part of values and explains the acts. For example a kind of an ideology could be the religion, because this will affect the person's point of views of whatever they live in daily life. Depending on the ideology, books will be in a way or into another.

3. Resource

The resources are materials, knowledges, tools that produce benefit in some cases; for example in a process, as an experiment, or in a presentation, to help the presenter to introduce the subject. The utility, limitation and availability are common into the resources. There are lots of kinds of resources and a book will be one of them to help the teacher to explain.

4. eBook

An eBook is an electronic report of a traditional printed book that can be read by using computers, tablets and eBook readers. The trendiest method to download it is from the Internet, into Web Sites; the procedure will last around five minutes. Nowadays, eBooks are used more and more to introduce the ICT in Education.

5. Fallacy

A fallacy is a mistaken argument based on a falsehood and lies. There are lots of types of fallacies such as the Ignorance, Authority, Popular Opinion, etc. A fallacy related with textbooks could be when children obey what textbooks say before than what teacher says.
