Finally, after collecting the references, I have had to do a mind map:

Here is the JOURNALIST!

Hi bloggers! I am Silvia García and I am here one week more to speak you about the task of this week, this time from the role of the JOURNALIST.

This week we have had to investigate about the Creative Common Licences and the main characteristics that we must take into account for doing a good exposition. After, we had to choose a content of the Primary School’s curricula and to develop it for doing a presentation to our classmates.

First of all, the last Monday, after Linda explained us what we had to do this week, we used that hour to divide the work and the facilitator (that this week has been Marina Crevillén) told us what we had to look for. Besides, we talked about the Primary lesson that we could use for the exposition. At first we proposed different themes that we could use, including the Cycle of the Water, the Nutrition of the Plants and the Solar System and after to consider the advantages and disadvantages of each content we decided to talk about the Solar System.

The next day that we met was the Tuesday and this day we put in common all the information that we searched for and explained to the other members of the group our part. In addition, we started to develop the first power point about the Common Licences and, although we felt a little stressed because we spend more time in did it that we had anticipated, we could finished that same day and started to do the second part of the activity. At this point I must say that we lost a part of our time choosing a new theme, because other groups had already chosen the contents that we had though, so we had to change it. Finally, we chose the Climates and while one part of the group was finishing the first exposition the other part started with the Climates.

On Wednesday we met again to finish the task. We used that day to look for information for complete the exposition and to finish the exposition (that we decided to do with Prezi) about it.

On Monday 2nd was the moment of our start (Alba García), who in a 4 minutes exposition had to explain all the information about the different climates that we had found in the world and, specifically, in Spain.

Finally, on Tuesday 3rd, we met one last time to correct the fails that we had had in our exposition and posted all our entrances in our blog.

Now, I am going to show you a blog about education that I have found very interesting because in it we can find a lot of information about different issues that the teachers can (and must) take into account. This blog is Education Week, in which there are a lot of news, materials, and information about what we can teach and in which form we can do it.
http://www.edweek.org/ew/index.html?intc=intst

At least, I am going to recommend you a blog of my classmates and, if I am sincere, it has been very difficult for me to choose one, because I have been a lot of time looking all their blogs and I think that all of them have done a very good job. Nevertheless, I must choose one and, at the end, I have decided to talk about the blog of the POWEPUFFTEACHERS. In the first place I have chosen this blog because his design has captured my attention and I think that is one of the blogs better organized, with a clear letter easy to read and with clear colours that do not tire the eyes. In addition, I think that their posts are very complete and I love some of the photos that they have put because I can see how they work together as a group. So for all these reasons I have chosen this blog for this week, I hope that you visit their blog and enjoy with them.

Yes Sir, of course Sir, whatever you say Sir! Hello my lovers, the facilitator is here! ♥

Hello everybody!

My name is Marina Crevillén Fernández and this week my role has been the facilitator.

This week my colleagues have suffered  an inhuman torture, but the surprise has been that they have survived.

The roles of this week are the following:

Anthea Clemente Sharp – farmer
Rebeca Cascales Ribera – analyst
Alba Garcia Subiela – star
María Garcia Zamora – translator
Silvia Garcia Martínez – journalist
Marina Crevillén Fernández – facilitator

Throughout this week I have to control and organize the group. I think that I haven't been too sergeant since, they still love me.
My role started when Linda commenced to explain this activity, which one was about how we can prepare a class for children of primary school.

First of all I want to expound you how I divided the work. First and foremost, on Monday afternoon I read the document that Linda uploaded on internet. After that, I divided the webpages and the videos that we had to read to do this work. My colleagues and me had to read and sum up the different resources to the next meeting, which was on wednesday morning. I have say that we took advantage of the days of strike to work, since we were overwhelmed, since working in group it's difficult because all members of the group have different lifestyle, different routines and different activities, so this a disadvantage since it was so difficult to be agree the six persons of the group.

Moreover, working in group is always something important and difficult because of the different opinions, different ways of doing things, etc. But in this case we have cordinated very well, I have to congratulate my colleagues for his hard-work, and for be open-minded people, since without them it wouldn't have been posible to prepar this work.

To conclude, we're proud of our work, despite that we had some mistakes doing it which one we have edited.

We hope you enjoy with us.

After around a week... We're going to analyse!

Hi! I am Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week my role has been the analyst. I had to analyse the week work and evaluate my group mates.

To start with the best part of the activity, it has been working together because we're learning a lot of from each others, when someone doesn't know something, others always help her and in my opinion, it's very important having a good coordination to work in groups.

Secondly, it's also a good part looking for some subjects we could use in the exposition of our topics, it was interesting because it's what we're going to work and teach children in a future, so it was very advantageous to us.

On the other side, the worse part of the activity was selecting the topic of our exposition because some people of the class choose a subject and then, another group has chosen the same one, so they argued and it was difficult, but finally we decided doing it about the climates, specifying in Spain, as anyone has chosen this subject.

And, it was also difficult for us looking for photographs in "Flickr" because in the Creative Common Licence appears scant photos, and we spent so much time with it.

Moreover, the best moment of the week was the moment when we decided our topic and anyone hasn't it because we could start it and work it calmly.

Another good moment was when we finished the Power Point and the Prezi because is a very big reward for us seeing that our worked project is finally finished and it's very interesting and original.

I have to say that receiving critics by our teacher has been also a good moment, although you can think that it's a nonsense thing, but we're learning a lot of ways to improve our work and doing better and better. To learn some new things, we should have a motivation and there's not any better than a mistake to solve.

“We learn from failure, not from success!” (Bram Stoker, 1897).

However, the worse moment of the week is the same every week, when we have to meet together, someone always can't do it because she has another thing to do, so it's difficult because in that moment, we get frustrated but finally, we agree with a solution.

We have learnt very interesting and useful things in this project because this will help us in a future, we will know how to do a good exposition and how to teach children and to catch their eye. It's very awesome seeing how a variety of significant steps will help you to do an interesting lecture or a boring one.

We have also learnt that it exists lots of photographs that you can't learn in you projects, investigation and activities because they haven't got the Creative Common Licence, you must use the photos which have it and tell where photographs come.

And finally unlike other groups, we have learnt about the climates. Firstly, we've a general view of the world climates; secondly, we focus in the Spain ones; and thirdly, we speak about the Flora and Fauna in Spain too.

I think that as every week, we should conserve coordination we have when we work in groups and the enthusiasm we dedicated to achieve it. We're always supporting ones and others, when someone has a problem, we always try to help her and this shows the motivation and the coordination we have.

My group needs to improve the organisation of the work, when we are organised, we work together in a correctly and coordinated way but before of this, we need a good organisation.
The lack of organisation causes that we spend lot of time in the same aspects and maybe a part that we could be done in 30 min., it's done in 2 hours. So this is the most important aspect that we must improve.

Regarding this activity, we should check and improve some aspects that Linda has said us, this will be better represented and shown in our next activities, for example the Creative Common Licence References in the photographs.

The content of this activity is related to every subjects in the first part and in the second part is related to the Natural Science subject. As I said before, the first part of this activity is useful to everyone and in this case, to every subjects because it shows how to do a good oral and visual exposition. So, we will be able to use it to teach children in a properly way and to catch their eyes.

The second part was about a topic that we choose, we did it about the climates, especially in Spain. Therefore, this will help us in the Natural Science subject because this is a part of this subject, that we will study  and teach in the next years.

Well, I have to say that it exists some social connection with this content because the communication is something very important and essential nowadays as always in our society. So, we should know how to communicate and do it in a correctly way. People tend to think that they would need it if they are teachers or they have a profession like that, but you just are mother, you need it to communicate with your children. Apart from that, if you're student of whatever degree you will need  an idea of how represent a good oral and visual exposition, so this will help you too.

Now, I'm going to do a little reflexion about our week. The Power Teachers Group has been working a lot of to do a very good activity but we have failed because we have done some wrong things as the situation of the climates in the map, especially the climate situated in Argentina, then the references in the photographs or the images' size which must be bigger, occupying every screen. But as Bram Stoker said, we would learn of our failures, not of our successes.

So, we're prepared to achieve our objectives and to do it as better as possible!

Shining on Monday

Hello! I'm Alba García and this week I have been the star. My job was to prepare the exposition of the second slide-show we had to do for the task on good presentations.

We chose to do it about climates, as you can see in the post "Slide-shows for Task 3" , where you can find the Prezi on climates I used to do the exposition.

Our exposition began with the explanation of the main climates you can find on Earth and then we moved onto the climates found in Spain. This is the information on which I based the exposition:

"We can find different types of climates on Earth:

The polar climate is very cold and dry throughout the whole year. The temperatures always stay below 0ºC and the lowest temperature ever recorded was -88ºC at Vostok (Antarctic).

In the continental climate, which can be found both in Northern America and in Europe, summer is hot and dry, while winter is very cold. Summer is the season when it rains the most, and the annual average temperature is below 10ºC.

In the oceanic climate it can rain during the whole year. During winter the temperature isn’t extreme, and during summer the temperatures are cool.

In the Mediterranean climate summer is hot and dry while winter is cold and wet. It is the ideal climate for growing citric fruits.

In the arid climate it is hot and dry every day, there is little water and few plants.

In the equatorial climate, found in Africa and America, it is very hot and humid throughout the whole year. It rains a lot, and the duration of the day is similar to the night.

In the tropical climate, found in America and Africa, it is hot and humid. During the wet season it can rain heavily almost every day, and the temperature stays above 25ºC even at winter.

We can also find different types of climates within Spain:

In the oceanic climate the temperatures are mild throughout the year due to the influence of the sea. During summer it is cool, around 20ºC, and during winter it is mild, around 11ºC. It rains a lot during the whole year, although during summer it rains a bit less.

In the mountain climate the temperature is low, the rainfalls are abundant and in winter it snows. During winter the temperature is below 0ºC, and during summer it is around 15ºC.

The inner Mediterranean climate is found in places with extreme temperatures as they aren’t close to the coast. Summer is hot and dry, and winter is cold. It rains mainly in autumn and spring.

The Mediterranean climate is common in the wet regions close to the Mediterranean Sea. Temperatures are mild due to the influence of the sea. During winter the temperature is around 12ºC and during summer it is around 27ºC. It rains very little, especially during summer, which is very dry. However, during autumn and spring it rains more. In places such as Murcia, Almería and Alicante, at the south of the peninsula, it is where it is the hottest and driest.

To finish with, the subtropical climate is typical of the Canary Islands. There are soft temperatures along the whole year, without big variations, around 20ºC. In the islands with less height and which are closest to Africa, such as Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, it doesn’t rain a lot. However in the north of the highest islands it is where it rains the most, while in the southern parts it hardly rains."

I have to admit that before and while I was doing the exposition I felt very nervous and was afraid of forgetting what I had to say, but I managed to finish it. After the exposition my teacher gave me some feedback, for which I (and my whole group) am very grateful. Some people might not like being corrected when they do something wrong, especially if it is in front of the rest of the class, but I'd rather be told what is wrong and then be able to fix it and don't repeat the same mistakes not only in the following activities, but also in the rest of presentations I'll have to do from now on.

Being the star would be very helpful for anyone. It is a great responsability and teaches you how to take charge of the situation, something we need for the daily life. Everyone should become the STAR of their lifes both in the personal and proffesional aspects. Being the star is not only about speaking in front of the rest of your collegues; it is about compromise, responsabiliy, overcoming new challenges...

Besides, this role will help us develop better our speaking and communication skills for our future job, that is being teachers. In a few years time we will have to be the stars 5 days a week, 5 hours a day. Even if you are not a teacher, or you are not going to become one, you will have to be the star in many situations in your life such as in job interviews, expositions at your job, when you meet someone new, etc.

Don't you understand the meaning of a word? Don't worry! The translator is here!!

Hi followers! I'm María García and this week I've been the TRANSLATOR! Maybe to many people think that this role can be bored and not very interesting but it is important to show the main vocabulary that we have used for this activity. So, I hope you understand all the words and it can be useful for you!
