After around a week... We're going to analyse!

Hi! I am Rebeca Cascales Ribera and this week my role has been the analyst. I had to analyse the week work and evaluate my group mates.

To start with the best part of the activity, it has been working together because we're learning a lot of from each others, when someone doesn't know something, others always help her and in my opinion, it's very important having a good coordination to work in groups.

Secondly, it's also a good part looking for some subjects we could use in the exposition of our topics, it was interesting because it's what we're going to work and teach children in a future, so it was very advantageous to us.

On the other side, the worse part of the activity was selecting the topic of our exposition because some people of the class choose a subject and then, another group has chosen the same one, so they argued and it was difficult, but finally we decided doing it about the climates, specifying in Spain, as anyone has chosen this subject.

And, it was also difficult for us looking for photographs in "Flickr" because in the Creative Common Licence appears scant photos, and we spent so much time with it.

Moreover, the best moment of the week was the moment when we decided our topic and anyone hasn't it because we could start it and work it calmly.

Another good moment was when we finished the Power Point and the Prezi because is a very big reward for us seeing that our worked project is finally finished and it's very interesting and original.

I have to say that receiving critics by our teacher has been also a good moment, although you can think that it's a nonsense thing, but we're learning a lot of ways to improve our work and doing better and better. To learn some new things, we should have a motivation and there's not any better than a mistake to solve.

“We learn from failure, not from success!” (Bram Stoker, 1897).

However, the worse moment of the week is the same every week, when we have to meet together, someone always can't do it because she has another thing to do, so it's difficult because in that moment, we get frustrated but finally, we agree with a solution.

We have learnt very interesting and useful things in this project because this will help us in a future, we will know how to do a good exposition and how to teach children and to catch their eye. It's very awesome seeing how a variety of significant steps will help you to do an interesting lecture or a boring one.

We have also learnt that it exists lots of photographs that you can't learn in you projects, investigation and activities because they haven't got the Creative Common Licence, you must use the photos which have it and tell where photographs come.

And finally unlike other groups, we have learnt about the climates. Firstly, we've a general view of the world climates; secondly, we focus in the Spain ones; and thirdly, we speak about the Flora and Fauna in Spain too.

I think that as every week, we should conserve coordination we have when we work in groups and the enthusiasm we dedicated to achieve it. We're always supporting ones and others, when someone has a problem, we always try to help her and this shows the motivation and the coordination we have.

My group needs to improve the organisation of the work, when we are organised, we work together in a correctly and coordinated way but before of this, we need a good organisation.
The lack of organisation causes that we spend lot of time in the same aspects and maybe a part that we could be done in 30 min., it's done in 2 hours. So this is the most important aspect that we must improve.

Regarding this activity, we should check and improve some aspects that Linda has said us, this will be better represented and shown in our next activities, for example the Creative Common Licence References in the photographs.

The content of this activity is related to every subjects in the first part and in the second part is related to the Natural Science subject. As I said before, the first part of this activity is useful to everyone and in this case, to every subjects because it shows how to do a good oral and visual exposition. So, we will be able to use it to teach children in a properly way and to catch their eyes.

The second part was about a topic that we choose, we did it about the climates, especially in Spain. Therefore, this will help us in the Natural Science subject because this is a part of this subject, that we will study  and teach in the next years.

Well, I have to say that it exists some social connection with this content because the communication is something very important and essential nowadays as always in our society. So, we should know how to communicate and do it in a correctly way. People tend to think that they would need it if they are teachers or they have a profession like that, but you just are mother, you need it to communicate with your children. Apart from that, if you're student of whatever degree you will need  an idea of how represent a good oral and visual exposition, so this will help you too.

Now, I'm going to do a little reflexion about our week. The Power Teachers Group has been working a lot of to do a very good activity but we have failed because we have done some wrong things as the situation of the climates in the map, especially the climate situated in Argentina, then the references in the photographs or the images' size which must be bigger, occupying every screen. But as Bram Stoker said, we would learn of our failures, not of our successes.

So, we're prepared to achieve our objectives and to do it as better as possible!
